The Sixes, Justice, and the Hanged ManWith all the active upheaval that has surrounded the solar eclipse in the United States, it is perhaps unsurprising that I haven't dedicated much time to continuing my information on my interpretation system for the tarot. Over the last couple of days, I've started drilling down through the confusion and trying to get back to basics, starting with my own personal goals and how I want to achieve them. One of the first and most pressing for me now is getting back to my creative work. Boom! Guess what I've waited to complete for so long? The Universe is prodding this student to get back to basics.

In thinking about that, I've also had to realize that, in working so actively on the Tarot Nerds page, I've evolved some of my interpretations. I believe it is for the better, but it has made me think of changes I would like to make to what I've already written. This is great and annoying, as most change is. So, most of what I had already written is already up. Everything from here on is original now. I hope to go back and make some updates and additions so they match more completely. In the meantime, I'll leave it as is so people can see something with some semblance of completion rather than another obvious work in progress. Guess that's why they call it a journey!

And so, here is what I have written on the Sixes!
In case you are wondering why, it's because I had not written it all yet! lol Finishing this has been a real slog without having anyone read it, so I'm using this as an opportunity to get it going in the right direction. You don't mind being my guinea pigs, do you? :)

So, we are now on to the Fives, which include The Hermit and The Wheel of Fortune. This is where the interpretations start getting more complex. The initial half of the Major Arcana are a bit more forthright, simpler to interpret, less murky, if you will. Once things start coming in contact with the World, they can be anything but simple. That doesn't mean impossible, though, just challenging. ;) So, welcome to the challenge!
I had been stalked a bit lately by this card, but nothing prepares oneself for the message that it has come to pass. My grandfather, JW, was an incredibly interesting and important man who accomplished many things and hid behind a self-deprecating, kind exterior. He taught me how to bird watch as a child, and I still keep an eye out for local songbirds because of him. He & my Grammy supported my love of music in material and important ways, giving me instruments and funding my lessons for piano through most of my childhood. He was sure to come to every recital he could, even my Master's recital. My aunt Gay had to escort him, as he had already gone blind by that time, but he still made sure all my friends felt welcomed and paid for everyone's dinner without making anyone feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. In short, he was loving, kind, amazing, and generous, and I love him still, very much. I have missed spending time with you for years, and now, I know that my memories will be all I have. I cherish them as a sign of how cherished I always felt as your granddaughter.

I'm sure others have different associations with the Chariot and Strength. I find them a fascinating pair, and I hope that you will enjoy my take on them and the minor fours.
(cue music) I had a really nice and relaxing time for that weekend, but I've been making up for my sloth at work, so I was unable to post the threes when I wanted. (boo, hiss) I'm sad about that, since the 3's are really one of my favorite sets of cards. Is it right to have favorite cards? I don't really know, but the creation energy is something I really enjoy. I may not create quickly, but I do love the creation process. I hope you do, too!

I hope you are all enjoying these interpretations and finding them useful. What I would really enjoy is if you let me know how you think the pairing of Major Arcana works in these interpretations. Do you find them helpful or no? I think, as we go along to the further numbers, that it will be easier to see if you agree with this system or no. It gets really fascinating with the latter numbers, since the associations are more complex. After all, what do the Devil and the Tower really have in common? What about Death and Temperance/Art? I will be excited to see whether your conclusions match mine... or not. :)

It is really stirring up my interest in a way I haven't experienced in (ahem) far too long. Because of this, I have started doing edits on my work for this again, so I'm adding and changing a few things based on where I can see a need for improvement. It is fun to be pursuing a creative endeavor this way again. I've waited too long!

So, since I have already posted the introduction material, I'll jump straight in to the meat of the matter: the card explanations. I'm realizing some things are not as completely aligned with the original RWS imagery as I remembered. That is partly because my first deck was the Enchanted Tarot, and partly because I have a slightly different image for each card anyway. (Does this mean I need to design my ideas? lol I could try it!) I hope that does not make things confusing.

So, here is the material for interpretations on the Fool and the Ones, which include the Magician, the High Priestess, and the ones of each suit of the Minor Arcana. Enjoy!
I don't claim to be an expert, but I have been reading the tarot cards for over two decades, so I've seen a few things even though I've never read for others professionally. That was never really my goal anyway; I was more interested in the personal development and the symbols. Oh, the symbols. I could talk about those all day. :)

Since a couple of you indicated interest in reading what I had to say about how I organize the tarot meanings in my readings, I thought I would "unlock the vault" and pull out what I had written about this subject. I will say, I've not seen anyone else use this sort of organization for the Major Arcana, so while I doubt everything in here is unique, I do think it is unusual. I find it very helpful, so I hope you do, as well.

As for what to do with it, I would hope you would read it, analyse it, see if it's useful for you. Keep a copy for yourself if you want, but please send people here with a link if you want to share. I did write every word of it, so please don't say someone else did.

So, without further ado, here are links to the "introductory" chapters of the book tentatively titled "Tarot Unfolding." Hope you find something useful.
I've passed through many battles and parties on the way, and my family and I have grown from them.

I've spent a good time recently working to reach a life that aligns more closely with what I believe are my highest goals. This has been a slow process, but it has been well worth the extra soul-searching and thinking and figuring out. For me, the biggest difficulty has been hubris. So often, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking one must be remembered, honored, or regarded as famous or fabulous to make a difference. For years, I fell prey to those thoughts of "special" things to do and accomplish. No wonder I was confused when my life kept handing me humble tasks! My truth, as I've worked to uncover it, really doesn't have much to do with acclaim or fortune, as fun as both sound (in theory). And really, I've learned that neither "ideal" is actually a goal I would enjoy. Why would I be obsessed with fame as success when my life urges retreat, relaxation, and gestation? Could the cultural ideal be a mismatch to what I really need? Yes, yes, yes. But sometimes, it takes a hammer upside the head, as we say in the South of the US, to realize the truth of a situation.

So, why write publically again. Well, it doesn't really matter if I'm famous, but if I have something that needs to be shared, there are ways to share it without letting ego get in the way. I want to help others, and if I have no point of contact, how can I do so? How can I get feedback if I'm only transmitting? I feel like blogging is a good compromise for these situations.

As to what I will share, well, I'm going to start with the "easy" route and share some of my work on symbolism. I have YEARS of dedication and obsession with symbolism, how humanity uses it, abuses it, can learn from it, can hurt from it. My first real forays were with fairy tales and mythology, but the first that really caught my full attention was that synthesis of tales told in the tarot deck. After about a decade of interest, an online friend and new learner of the tarot asked me how I organized the meanings of the cards, and I started a project that sat unfulfilled for another decade. I've taken it out, brushed it off, and started finding that the waiting period feels more like a gestation, so I'm ready to try to bring this to the world, poor little child that it is, and let others see it, touch it, and help it grow. Perhaps it will turn out to be a marvelous living document that brings help to many. Perhaps not. Perhaps it will only give one little inspiration to another person. Perhaps everything that grows from this will be internal and personal. All of these possibilities are ok right now. My little Fool of a manuscript deserves its chance to meet the World and see what comes of its work. Perhaps I deserve that, too.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-92085657202902274792011-02-14T04:00:00.003-06:002011-02-14T07:21:28.646-06:00February TDS Blog Train/TrioWell, there are times that blog trains don't really get to take off from the station, but I think you'll like this trio even with so few stops. ;) The incomparable Jacquie, the awesomest Linda, & lil ole Mawkinberd have put together a mini Valentine's Day treat for you!
And I even made a video of the results (that some of you have seen already, so bear with me for the repetition). Daddy loved it especially. ;)

I had to leave out a few pics to be able to fit the timing on the music, but I think it turned out cute anyway. And I was still surprised to see how much difference there was between my scrapping at the beginning of the book and scrapping at the end. I guess that means I'm improving! :P Thank goodness. lol

And in all that, I've started Joe's Third Year Album. Woah! My plan is to catch up with the Third Year album, and while I keep up with it, I can play with my other projects, like my wedding album. I haven't given it any time lately, and I really want to finish that one up sometime soon. And now that I'm learning more about photo editing, I can start using pics other than the professional ones in this album. :)

As for the Third Year album, I've made several pages already, including these:

This one was a lot of fun. Joe was so good while we were ornament shopping! And he got a really big kick out of picking out his special ornament, the one with Mickey Mouse on it. Yeah, he's going through a Mickey phase right now. :P

It's so rare that I get a sad or mad picture of Joe. For one thing, he's a ham. For another, he never seems to stay sad or mad long (unless he's sick, and then I'm not a camera hog). So I thought it was fun to see him in this one. It's a lot like another layout I did of him, but I just love the sunny colors with that sad face. Makes me smile. :)

Daniel worked so hard on getting this extra special present ready for Joe, I couldn't help be feel like this deserved its own layout. We were together until around 11 pm on Christmas Eve wrapping gifts, but he was the one who stuck it out until the wee hours of the morning. We really thought it was more put together than that! Daddy's rock. :P

Of course, we didn't just stay home on Christmas Day... the grandparents would have been upset! We went to Daniel's dad's house first, since he always wants the morning. Joe had a wonderful time! Great company, fun food, and wonderful gifts. A great time for all.

And, last but not least, I had to go back to pick up this event at Granny's house. She has a Christmas party annually where everyone who's ever been a part of it is invited. This was Joe's second time to attend the party (and Daniel's first). He had even more fun this year than he did last year. It was almost impossible to get him to sit still for a photo, but I got plenty of sweet photos of the other kids. :) The pics were really overexposed, so I'm kind of proud of all the work I put in to process the pics so they would look nice.

As always, I have all my designer info on these in my Flickr album, so be sure to visit it and see where all the talent came from. ;)

I'm still going strong in the Journal in Weight Loss journaling class. This last prompt was pretty tough, but I think I finally slugged it out. I'm looking forward to seeing what the other ladies have to say. And I really need to make another layout for all this! I'll bet I could do something about my new goals...

Until next time, j'éspere que vous êtes très heureux et sûr, mes amis!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-31168532029802113172011-01-27T00:01:00.000-06:002011-01-27T00:01:14.990-06:00Woah... end of the book!

So, I have several pics to show you. Yes, all at once. Believe it or not, I've had a layout spurt. Yes, I've been procrastinating about some other things, namely my prompt on our board. But yeah, I finished my book! This first one, I went for a retro look because the pictures were pretty overexposed. Plus, I always think old timey when I hear a calliope. :)

This one is just another example of why I like Fa Maura. Perfect kit for going to the park layouts! Aren't the colors sweet? Besides the pictures, I like the little squirrel the best. :D

You know, this one is one of my favs in the whole album, and I'm not sure why. I usually hate this palette for a kit, and I love it here. And Joe is so cute! Maybe that's why. :D

We had a fantastic time on Joe's birthday. I'm glad I got so many pictures of him having fun! It worked out perfectly.

And the final page for the whole shebang... I was surprised I found so many fantastic face shots of Joe that I didn't use in any other layouts. It worked out so well. :) But how can you go wrong with such a wonderful little face? He just makes it happen!

Of course, if you want to know more about whose works I used here, please click the pics to see my Flickr page... all my designer info is there! And keep your eyes open here... I'll be making this into a video soon, if I can make my choices a little better this time. lol Until then, take care, my friends.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-63343475307066732682011-01-24T12:06:00.000-06:002011-01-24T12:06:16.486-06:00Monday post for DeedsI'm not much of an activist. Heck, I'm just not very active, period. lol But I have a cyber friend who is. Her nest of monsters is a groovin' place to be, and she always keeps her eyes open for injustices and people needing help. So if you're like me and want to know more about what's going on in the world of special needs, you should visit her anyway. And if you want to know more about Deeds and his amazing family, please visit today. He's an amazing little boy! And if we can, as a caring world, help him get the autism dog he needs, it will be worth every bit of effort.

I am toodling along in the scrapping. I guess it's because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on this task. I'm almost done with this book! :D And because I know dh, aka Football Fiend Daddy, will love this, here is another pic to share with you all.

I'll have you know, I thought I was done with this layout yesterday evening. Then I showed it to dh, aka Football Fiend Daddy, and he said that he was disappointed that I didn't include that cute pic of Joe "helping" the cheerleader. After all, cheerleaders are a part of football, too. (As if I were arguing that.) And he thought it should be there. Yeah, right about... there. (giggle) Since this is the first time he's taken an interest in editing any of my layouts, how could I refuse? So in she goes. Hope she doesn't mind. :P

The Journey in Weight Loss is going along quite well. I've had some setbacks with an infection that is making me *not* lose weight right now, but I am not discouraged. Check with me later on that one. lol For now, though, I'm just glad that I'm making so many positive changes in my life. Oh, and I've even stopped a couple of times just to say wow to myself. That's pretty amazing in itself. Dh also says that these last two days have been more high energy and feel good for me than he remembers in a long time. That is definitely telling. :)

Keep the faith, my friends! (((hugs)))Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-84643764588106805372011-01-20T13:38:00.000-06:002011-01-20T13:38:50.485-06:00Getting so close...

I finally finished the cover for Joe's second year album. It was probably the most intricate layout I've ever made, and it certainly took longer than any other layout I've ever done. It was actually more like two big layouts in one. But it was worth the work. I'm so thrilled with it! And I'll definitely have to do something similar another time. I think the best part was picking out the particular magazine I wanted to make. It wasn't easy! There are many more cute kids magazines around today than I ever remember seeing when I was younger. I'll have to remember to maybe ask for this one for a gift for Joe next year; it's really more for the 3-5 year old crowd. ;)

There's really only about 3 or 4 layouts I want to add towards the end, and after that, the album will be complete. :) And since that is the case, I'll be looking around again for options for making this into a movie. It might fall through again; the hard part wasn't the programming but the right music. lol But regardless, I know that I will be prepared for the family reunion this year with just the right thing to give folks.

Hope everyone is doing well! (((hugs)))Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-18372926611004175072011-01-11T13:39:00.000-06:002011-01-11T13:39:57.776-06:00Finding new inspirationYou know, sometimes I have to remind myself that the word "inspiration" has a technical meaning of breathing in. If I am around things that are inspiring, they tend to take my breath away and make me want to take them into myself and create. So if I put myself where they are, I will inevitably begin that joyful process.

One of the cool things that I found recently (thanks to my awesome friend Linda!) is the digi designer Fa Maura. If you are afraid to use designers who are not native English speakers, you're going to have to let loose of that worry for a bit and check her out. Her store is in English, and she has both page kits and designer resources. And when I say I love her designs, let me tell you, I REALLY love them. I got several items at her store, and you know I don't just go and get myself digi items. I haven't gotten so much stuff since I won a coupon to Studio Ztampf! a few months ago. :D

As per usual, I have all my credits on my Flickr page, but I want to say how much I enjoy this mix of realistic, drawn, and scribbled items in this birthday kit. But even better than that is the color scheme. I normally enjoy natural colors for my normal layouts, but I really wanted some more bright and colorful ones for my special pages with Joe. Fa Maura really does it, and beautifully.

Ok, I'm really not on her CT, honest! lol I've done several more pages lately, but I have not loaded them onto Flickr because I've mainly been putting them in my gallery at The Digi Scrappers. A lot of them have to do with the Journey in Weight Loss group I am taking part in. It is really going so well. I am so excited with the progress we have all been making. I'm being a bit premature, but I think that this is going to the be time I really start turning around my health. I am having such a good time facing what I need to face, and I'm getting so much accomplished on the inside, it seems obvious that the outside will continue to follow. I'll keep you all updated on how it goes. In the meantime, if you want to join, please do! We have a nice, tight-knit group that is very supportive and loving, and we would enjoy helping you along, as well!

Alright, time to move back into work mode. I need to get some more recipes downloaded for my healthier meal plans. :) Until next time, here's to hoping you are all making your new year's ambitions into realities. Je vous aime, mes chers!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-37403670207134199282010-12-31T09:45:00.001-06:002010-12-31T09:46:20.343-06:00Happy New Year's Eve!Hello, lovely people! I hope you all have some fun plans for ringing in 2011. I have to admit, I really don't have anything particular planned. Generally, if I'm going to do something, I go out with friends. Well, for the last couple of years, I've had a compelling reason to stay home. :P And while there was some talk about getting together tonight with Jo and James, I'm not sure we'll be able to do it because Daniel has to work tomorrow at an ungodly early hour. So, we might be homebound. But that's ok... we'll have fun no matter what.

I have another layout that I finished a couple days ago.

Joe is rarely sick, so having a sick day layout is a different thing. Sure, he had lots of bumps and bruises from learning to walk, but fever and stuff? Not so much. (Thank goodness!) So I had to take the opportunity and run with it.

Ok, no other big news to report... other than that I am *so* excited to start the Journey for Weight Loss tomorrow! I can't wait to see who are our fellow journeymen and women are. It's going to get exciting! :D

Have a safe New Year celebration, everyone!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-90395084569277997472010-12-28T14:09:00.002-06:002011-01-17T17:07:41.723-06:00AccomplishmentI don't know if I had mentioned this before, but I was lucky enough to lay my greedy little mitts on a copy of CS5 this holiday season, and I'm loving it! I finally feel like I'm starting to get the basics firmly under my belt, so here shortly, I'm going to have to start learning to get past the basics. The fun thing about this, is the basics I am learning are really the nadir of what I had learned to accomplish already in GIMP, so that means I'll be able to take my scrapping to a whole new level... in less than a month's time! Since I spent an entire *year* initially learning all this, I find this incredibly exciting. I know that it's because of the similarities between the programs, but that doesn't make me any less happy about it.

So, this is my latest creation du jour:

I am almost halfway through catching up with myself in Joe's 2nd year album, so I'm feeling good about that. I know I didn't finish it for the holidays, but at least I'll have it ready for the family reunion. :)

I am taking part in a great program this year, and I am really excited about it. Linda and Carolyn have done it again and come up with another cool idea. This time, it's an art journaling program called "A Journey in Weight Loss."

I have seen some of the material, and I think everyone is going to be really impressed with how well this is made. If you want a few more details, be sure to check out the store! If you want some awesome support on your weight loss journey, I think you'll be glad you did.

Ok, I've gotta hop back into things. I've accomplished so many things today, I'm pretty impressed with myself, but that's no reason to rest on my laurels! Until next time, my dears.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-80449433381614403312010-12-26T14:52:00.000-06:002010-12-26T14:52:08.156-06:00Happy Holidays!I hope this post finds you all well and happy. I've been lazing around today after going out to get Daddy (my husband Daniel) his big Christmas present; a new netbook. We really lucked out... the only one left of the one he wanted was a floor model, so we got a great discount on it. We didn't think that we would be able to afford to do that; he had already gotten some really nice work boots and a couple other little things, so he wasn't neglected. But that was partly because we had really thought there was no way to get him this. He's really sick, so he's been having a hard time getting all excited. But I can tell that he's really thrilled. So add him to the list of happy campers! Joe has been having so much fun. He was exhausted after that long day yesterday; he went from about 8 am to about 10 pm with only a 30 minute nap in the car between houses. Even so, he's still really excited and happy, which is a miracle when he's that tired. I'm proud of my munchkin; he was such a good boy all day yesterday and today. And I'm soooo glad he had so much fun for Christmas. Score!

In celebration, I decided to finally finish *last* Christmas' layout. So, here it is!

I hope everyone is still having a fantastic holiday season! Much love to you all. :)Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-27313419704411693252010-12-21T12:21:00.000-06:002010-12-21T12:21:51.648-06:00Crossing the T'sI did an edit of all the names of the pages I had done for Joe's 2nd year album yesterday, and while I was doing so, I noticed something odd. Sure enough, a double check through the files confirmed it; I didn't scrap any holidays other than Easter! (hangs head in shame) So, I had to go back and fill in the spaces. No holiday should go unscrapped-ded!

Poor thing, he had such a bad booboo on his nose. I don't remember exactly what happened, but I'm pretty sure it involved a faceplant into a table. (We got rid of that table, btw.) Nevertheless, he had a blast. I mean, what toddler wouldn't love a dog that is almost exactly his size and likes to play chase? Oh, and he thinks dressing is Thanksgiving's gift to him. Take my word for it; that plate may look huge in front of him, but it was ALL GONE by the time he got done with it.

Moving on to Christmas... Can't believe I did that!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-81160284498838048502010-12-20T15:15:00.001-06:002010-12-20T15:18:32.406-06:00Thirty Days Hath September...... but I took way more pictures than 30, and I'm having trouble catching up!

When we are home, Joe often plays with the little girls from next door, but I often don't have the camera on hand to catch it. So I was glad I caught a couple for this layout. Too bad I only caught Andy's back in one blurry picture (that didn't make it into the layout, sadly). They really have a lot of fun together, even though both Hannah and Joe have trouble sharing. They're trying to learn, but it's so hard! :D I've got deets on my Flickr page for the kit.

This one was a different story. I had too many pics to choose from, and I was afraid I was going to overload this layout, even if it did have so many slots! Still, I wish I'd had a better one of Jo Ann and Joe together, although those two are sweet. I think Joe was a little young to really get the whole feeling for it, but we all had a good time. It was hard to leave New Orleans after that!

And this layout. Oh, I was so mad at myself when I saw how few pictures I had taken while we were hanging out in New Orleans. I didn't even have one picture of Jo Ann or me! Go figure. Cuteness abounded with Joe, though, so I was happy to make him a nice page. Don't you love how he and Grammy bonded? Just wish I had gotten a picture of the goodbyes between Joe, Grammy, and Gramps! Ah, the pictures not taken. ;)

I am belatedly attempting to finish all the pages for Joe's Second Year book so that I can give out dvd's of it to family. Shucks, I don't think I'm going to make it. I am, however, much further along this year than I was last year, so there's a possibility that I might, someday, catch up. Of course, I only started scrapping last week of November last year, so that could be why the first year scrapbook took further into the next year to make. ;) And some day, I may even finish my wedding album. But I'm not holding my breath on that one... each page seems to take longer than the last, but oh! it's worth the wait! :D

I don't know if I will be blogging again before Christmas. I rather doubt it, actually; I've been rather congested and running behind on, well, everything. My family is coming down from Pennsylvania this week, and I may not even get to see them. That is, I can't visit with certain family members if I have a virus or bacterial infection because their immune systems can't cope with the stress. I am going to be so disappointed if I can't see them, but I'm going to be especially disappointed if Joe doesn't get to see them; he still has trouble remembering them between visits because he's so young, and I want him to know them all. I hope we'll be able to work it out.

In any case, since this is the last time before then, I hope all my Christian friends have a wonderful Christmas, and to those who celebrate other holidays, I hope they are holy indeed. Take care, and blessings for all of you and your families.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-13732341068883422952010-12-12T11:25:00.000-06:002010-12-12T11:25:14.904-06:00After a BitI know, I let things drop off right after I had been posting almost every day. I'm sorry about that. I've had a lot of drama going on, but I can't really talk about most of it. lol So, chalk it up to too much to blog about.

On a positive note, my husband went back to work full-time. Yay! So now we have health insurance again. This is a definite bright spot in a time when we have had a good bit to worry about. In light of this, I've been more relaxed and able to do some more creative things. I've even scrapped a few pages. I'm feeling good about it. This is good; I have so many Christmas things left to do, and the two year old is not helping. lol (He just made a sound like a wounded moose, according to the movie he's watching. Just had to share.) But he thinks that's a reason to start trying for a little girl. He must have missed out on the jealous fit Joe had when I picked up the 5 month old girl at daycare.

So, I'll be back again soon with some actual layouts and stuff, as soon as I get them uploaded. Until then, holiday love & joy to you all.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-7885110170898586862010-11-29T09:29:00.001-06:002010-11-29T09:30:50.642-06:00A Christmas Tree (and a confession)We put up our Christmas tree last night! Yaya! We got a short-needled tree for a change (DH normally prefers pines and such). We haven't gotten any "real" ornaments on it yet, just some (break-resistant) silver and gold balls. We wanted Joe to get used to those before we put on anything fancy. Oh, and tinsel and lights. Joe keeps saying "Pretty tree" every time he's in the living room. Now, if we could only convince him that he doesn't have to rehang a ball every few seconds, we'd be a little safer. lol I got some pictures of him admiring the tree and "helping," so I'll have to post them later after I get them out of the camera. :)

Sadly, it is the last day of the meme. Bummer!

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.

Ok, I've wrangled this through my head for days now. What should I confess? I mean, I don't wanna go to jail over this one. I also don't wanna say something that will hurt someone's feelings too much... So what do I confess? Something unexpected? It's not like anything I confess will be earth-shattering. So, I decided to go for something bizarre that I don't think anyone knows about me (except for me, of course). So... ahem. I have to confess that I am... terrified of astronomy. Yes, absolutely terrified of it. When I was a little kid, I loved astronomy. I would look for the star formations, even had a telescope for a while. And I always loved looking at stars. But when I got a little older and started trying to wrap my brain around the reality of infinity... of what space is, and how it's formed, and what its properties are... Ok, I'm gonna leave it there. Yes. I am a (fairly) rational adult, I (mostly) function typically in daily life, and I am horrified about thinking too hard about astronomy. So there. Now you know.

This was so much fun! I'll have to see if I can find another meme. I have loved getting your responses. Makes the cyber world feel that much more friendly. :D So thank you so much. And I promise, as soon as I get my new Bamboo, I'll post some goodies for everyone! (((hugs)))Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-75086470095126758342010-11-27T11:03:00.000-06:002010-11-27T11:03:41.879-06:00One year of scrapping!Omg! Omg! Omg! Omg! I've been scrapping for one whole year. I know, strange thought. Sometimes it feels like I've been scrapping my entire adult life. And sometimes, I'm such a noob! Anyway, I've been thinking of how I wanted to celebrate it, but my husband took it out of my hands. So, here it is.... he's been saving pennies, and today, we ordered a Bamboo Craft for Christmas! OMG! (Yes, I know I sound like a squealing teen girl. Get over it. :P) I'll be able to take my scrapping to a whole new level. It'll be awesome. :D

So, yeah. My husband wins Christmas for Mommy.

However, he kinda nixed what I was planning on getting for him. :( So I'm still working on him. We're going to get our tree tonight, so maybe I can feel him out. I know a couple of "extra" things I'm getting to go with it that he'll like, but they're not enough. And I need to get some yarn to make some things for our clients at work for Christmas. We can do it. :)

Alright, on to day 9. Almost done with the meme! Sadness. :(

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Ten: One confession.

Oh boy, this one is a bit tough. I don't do much variety in smilies! I have favs that I use over and over and that's pretty much it.

1. :P (my personal fav, always in season)
2. >:D (because I love to be naughty... lol)Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-67069748878415024682010-11-26T10:52:00.000-06:002010-11-26T10:52:57.864-06:00Day 8 of More About MeSo, did everyone have a great Thanksgiving? We had a good time. Joe was out overnight with his Aunt Becca Wednesday night, which was good for Mommy (lol), but we were so glad to see one another when we got to his Papaw's house. He just laid on my shoulder for a couple minutes. You know, when your 2 year old does that, that you truly are loved. Definitely worth being thankful for. :)

Ok, so I took the day off yesterday from blogging, but in my defense, I did have said 2 year old sitting on my arm. I challenge you to write a coherent blog post with a 2 year old on your arm screaming for kitty kitty videos. lol

Wait, didn't I cover this when I did eight ways to win my heart? Well, maybe not. :P

1. Let me play with your hair, please? I mean, I love hugs and touching, but let me play with your hair. Mmmm.

2. I love to give massages almost as much as I love getting massages. Either one will do. Or both. ;)

3. Look me in the eye and tell me how much you love me. Or say something suggestive. Or both. I'm an equal opportunity listener. lolSarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11525196.post-48316312627242059752010-11-24T19:18:00.000-06:002010-11-24T19:18:59.736-06:00Day 7 of More About MeDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Ten: One confession

Ok, four things that make me go ick.
1. Being a braggart is one of those things that just make my skin crawl, and I don't mean just the obvious braggarts. I also mean those people who always have just a little bit more, get it just a little bit worse, have done just a little bit better than everyone. Please, don't try to compete with me. That's no way to enjoy our time together.

2. Snobbishness is a HUGE turnoff. Honey, I've worked in fundraising for the opera world. I have met and talked to real millionaires on a regular basis, and guess what? They're no more impressive than anyone else is, unless there's something INSIDE that counts. The money just greases the wheels. I don't like the millionaire snobs, either.

3. Physical things? Well, um, if I have to dig through your hair to find you, it kinda scares me. Sorry guys.

4. Rudeness and plain old meanness just make me hurt (and everyone around you). I don't want it near me. You may leave.

I'm sorry I missed a day. :( Joe and I had to run all around town yesterday, so we were really tired yesterday evening, and, well, that's the way it goes sometimes. But I'm back! We'll get it squared away.

Gosh, I've gone round and round about this one in my head. I mean, what if someone's feelings gets hurt because I forget them? So I've been trying to figure out how I can make this list without making a bad one. :/ So. I thought I would make it a list of some of my new friends on the Internet. I know, I'm still not going to get everyone I want. I hope you can forgive me. (((hugs)))

1. Linda, I miss you! I hope that you find the house you're looking for soon! I want you to be able to hike that trail. Purple nail polish would be a must. :) Besides that, I'll be Carolyn would be by your side the whole time, and me too in spirit.

2. Sila, we have a lot of fun together! Besides that, it's so nice to talk to someone who relates. I don't get to spend as much time as I like, but I enjoy when we are able to get together. You make me smile, you make me laugh, and you give the best snuggles. I highly approve. :D

3. Dan, you are such an inspiration to me! I tend to get caught up in my own "stuff" and forget to think outside, except for one person at a time. I'm a little hesitant to be out there for so many to see. Thank you for helping me see out that window. :)

4. Jacquie, I've been worried about you. I've hardly seen you online at all. But I'm still thinking about you and Yvano and your family. I hope that things are going to get better for you soon. (((hugs)))

5. Penny, I'm so enjoying watching you learn new things while you design. Your enthusiasm makes me smile and reminds me of why I started digiscrapping in the first place. I hope we see one another more often!

5.5. Because I couldn't resist, frazzledmommy... :) I am so happy to see into your busy world. Between you, Bubbe, and your husband, it's so fun (and moving) to see your family go about their lives. All I can really say, is Thank you. You're wonderful.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782893568754312455noreply@blogger.com1
